My passion the past 40 years has been simply “helping others get what they want.” You see, I am a salesman. That’s what I do. Rewind to the beginning of my sales career and you will find a frustrated, struggling young man trying to carve out a living for his family. I learned early on that selling stuff to others requires a certain skill set and a particular bank of knowledge, which I had yet to learn or acquire. I knew one thing for certain. There had to be a secret to this sales thing. Something was missing that I just could not quite grasp. I had many friends and colleagues that were very good at selling stuff to others. As I searched for an answer, the word secret proved to be the correct terminology since not one of these great salespeople could articulate an answer that satisfied my quest. During those early years I was like a dog on the hunt and with unrelenting persistence a very vivid picture emerged, revealing the bonafide secret that would guide the remainder of my sales career. This Secret is truly profound and powerful. It defines the art and skill of salesmanship bringing crisp clarity and awareness for all aspiring salespeople, and can bring a renewed perspective to the sales careers for even the most seasoned salesperson.
